My own flying adventures and other paragliding news from Finland

Grounded by flu
Apparently caught a flu in rainy Stockholm. Today barely managed a walk. Of course the weather was very good. Sun, little wind and nice cloud streets with a quite high base for September. Didn't hear about anyone flying though...
I'm Robert Aarts, a paragliding pilot from Espoo, Finland. This blog tracks my own flights and developments as well as other paragliding news from Finland; I also blog about technology and other issues). I've been flying since 1993 and I'm still learning and getting better at it; this never ending opportunity for improvements is one of the main fascinations and drivers for me. Even more important for me is the absolute tranquility of being in the air, concentrated on flying and free from other thoughts, disturbances or worries. Finally it is really amazing to be able to fly for hours and over long distances using nothing but wind and thermals, i.e. solar energy. Every now and then I organize paragliding trips and training under the umbrella of Lokkilok. You can contact me there or by email
